- 63 Countries joined as a final tally.
- Germany, Russia and the Untied States of America did not join.
- It was based in the Netherlands because it was a neutral state.
- The main purpose and theme was collective security, however it failed in the end.
- The failure was a result of major powers refusal to join.
- The irony was that it was Woodrow Wilson (President of the USA) that created the League of Nations however his own country refused to join.
- This was the beginning of NATO and the UN.
